Create a Windows 7 Bootable

The Windows 7 repair disk utility is located in the Control Panel. Use the following steps to navigate to the repair disk section:

• Click the Windows 7 Orb in the task bar. Click “Control Panel” in the menu list items.
• Click the “System and Security” link. This lists several administrative options in your Control Panel. Click the link labeled “Backup and Restore.” A window opens with a few options for your backup utility.
• Click the link labeled “Create a System Repair Disc” on the left side of the window. This opens a new window.

The Windows 7 system repair utility detects if you have a DVD or CD burner installed. For instance, if you try to create the disk with a netbook, you won’t be able to complete the process since these computers don’t usually have a DVD burner installed. You either need to buy a DVD burner, or you must run this utility on a computer that has a DVD or CD burner installed.

If you haven’t already inserted a blank DVD or CD disk, insert it now. The drop-down list in the Windows 7 boot disk utility lists all of your installed burners. If you have more than one burner installed on your computer, select the drive to which you want to copy the repair system and boot files. The opened window gives you some information about your boot disk, including the information that you can repair some Windows 7 files using the burned DVD or CD.

Click the “Create Disc” button. It only takes a few minutes to create the boot disk. Keep the disk in a safe location. After it completes, the repair disk utility gives you a success message, and it opens the burner drive, so you can remove the disk from the computer. If you have Windows 7 boot problems, use this disk to scan and fix boot file issues.
